The family regulation system in the United States has operated as a racist system designed to separate, control, and destroy Black families. 1 in 2 Black children will experience a family regulation investigation. Black newborns have 172% higher odds of being drug tested than their white counterparts. 1 in 10 Black children will experience family separation, and in our court system, 1 in 41 Black children will have their parents’ legal rights terminated. Hear from Black Families Love and Unite, Movement for Family Power, Race Forward, Transfuturist Collective, and upEND and how they are fighting for reparations for the harms caused by this unjust system.
